City of Mausoleum

Hey if you someday visit my city, I’d love to show you around.

I’ll take you to the history museum, but did you know it was cracked and badly damaged few years ago from an earthquake of 7.3 Richter scale on the 30th of September 2009?

Then we’ll take a walk to an Old Catholic church that the Dutch built, you see that big cross? Do you know the old one broke in to two? Some people died and buried under the ruins.

Oh Let’s go to the big traditional market, there are great food along these streets, though do you know it was flat as the ground and hundreds of people died and we couldn’t even bury them properly?

Oh hey in the end of this street is my old school, one of the student, a 21 years old girl was trapped inside the ruins for more than 48 hours, but she survived, hundreds were still trapped that time though.

That day, 5th of October 2009, the team of 14 countries that were looking for living victims under the ruins said they will stop their search, because they were convinced there are no more survivors. It was just a week after the earthquake my friend, why would they give up that fast? Haven’t they heard of some people stranded in the Andes and survived for weeks? Why do you think they underestimated human’s will to survive?
Is it just me? Or did you hear weak whispers, all over the city? At schools, streets, stores, mosques, churches, way under?

The big house you built, things you indulged within, your wall collections that you love so much, now bury you alive...

But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. Psalm 9:18

7,6 Richter scale of earthquake in Padang and surroundings of West Sumatra on 30th of September 2009. Temporary death toll is above 1100 people with thousands injured and hundreds still missing.

When the world is tumbling down from underneath, I'll be finding You, still standing here...
Phil. 1:21

Take good care,
Naomy

p.s. for those who are puzzled, the story takes place in the future
